The Guru
Maharishi Yogi Madhusudan
A life given wholly to the realization of God and to guiding seekers along that path — in Varanasi, in the presence of great masters, and finally in the quiet of Kankhal, Haridwar.

His spiritual journey
On 9 December 1980, in the ancient city of Varanasi, Maharishi Yogi Madhusudan Ji received initiation into sannyas — the vow of renunciation — from the great Saint 1008 Swami Hariharanand Saraswati, revered as Sri Karpatri Ji Maharaj. That day set the direction of his entire life.
Two years later, in 1982, he was initiated into Yoga and Transcendental Meditation by Sadguru Sri 1008 Maharshi Mahesh Yogi Ji. Under that guidance the disciplines of breath, stillness and inner attention became for him not techniques but a way of being.
In 1999 he established Mahrishi Yoga Ashram at Kankhal, Haridwar, so that householders and renunciates alike could learn to live with excellence in action and devotion in the heart. He has guided seekers there ever since, without regard to religion, caste, class or country.
Teachings & recognition
Maharishi Yogi Madhusudan Ji recognizes that God, though formless, may assume a visible form through the grace of a realized Sadguru. He teaches that the formless can indeed be experienced and known — and that, having known Him, the whole purpose of human life is to devote oneself to His service.
“Take up your duty and perform it with skill and love. Where the mind is at peace and the heart knows that God alone is the Doer, devotion follows of itself.”
